Champaca belongs to family of Magnoliaceae and is a very spiritual Indian flower. Also know as Champaka, and Golden Champaca, the flowers (and oil) have a precarious & holy smell. It is often grown as a boulevard tree in the tropics and is frequently planted on Hindu temple grounds because it is sacred to the god Vishnu. The tree has smooth gray bark, with long, oval-shaped, evergreen leaves, and beautiful yellow-to-orange, narrow-petaled flowers. Champaca flowers bloom both in spring and fall.
